![]() It's a collective material and nothing more imo.ġ2)Music for Nations 1st Press 1984: Very weak pressing once again from a single LP by "MFN" label. I feel Japanese make their own mastering on this pressing and they did't take the "Tim Young" mastering as the description on the insert mentions. Still decent sound quality.ġ1)Nexus Japan Press 1984: The sound it's not the best here. But if we speak for sound quality, the above 8 pressings are better imo. (For more details go in the Rhino Box page and read the comments or my list below of my comment here)ġ0)Blackened Remastered "2016": For 18-22 bucks this pressing is great and the best for value out there. Also It's not the cleanest vinyl and has few distortions and pops here and there. The pressing has massive bass that cover all the instruments and "James" vocals and buried the original atmosphere and the depth of the album. It was from "Tim Young" mastering the source. ![]() The problem here is the cutting and the source of the mastering. The version remind me the Elektra 1st press above. "Megaforce" is a better pressing all around but i love and this one too.ĩ)Rhino 2004 from Box Set:Very rich and warm sound. Both of them share the rare "Tom Coyne" mastering. The mastering was by "Tom Coyne" and for that it sound so different than any other pressing of the album except the "Banzai" that both share the same mastering.Ĩ)Banzai Canada 1st pressing (White Labels): Like the "Megaforce" pressing and this one it sound cold, bright and sharp. For me is not but is cool to listen the album like that sometimes. Many ppl prefer the album like that and that's is the reason why they say "is the best version of the album". The sound is sharp, cold and dry with less bass and mass. The album it sound little more brighter with less bass and for that i prefer the above pressings that are more darker and atmospheric.ħ)Megaforce 1st Press (This one):This press is the most brighter. Also the most different from any other out there cause "Direct Metal Mastering" combiend with 2xLP 45 RPM. This was my least favorite mastering but the cutting on this vinyl was amazing.Ħ)Music for Nations 45 RPM 87:Very brutal and powerful pressing. It takes the fourth place cause "Tim Young" mastering. But both of them have "Bob Ludwing" mastering and for that and this version sound great.ĥ)Roadrunner 1984: Very balance pressing with a lot of clarity. Little brighter cause "DMM" method and less warmer than the Elektra pressing. Amazing sound quality and power combined with the cheap price. I break my neck from headbaging when i heard first time this versionĤ)Vertigo Europe Reissue of 89:Great choice all around. Very balance sound with a lot of depth and atmosphere. This version has "Tim Young" mastering but "MK" cut excellent this vinyl and the result was insane. This is more harder to get.ģ)Vertigo Europe 2001:Once again one amazing pressing from this "Metallica" 2001 vinyl series from "Vertigo label. Also has "Bob Ludwing" mastering and is the best of the album imo.Ģ)Elektra Allied 84 reissue:Identical with the Specialty above. Also ultra flat soundġ)Elektra Specialty 1984 reissue: The most darker, heavier, brutal, natural pressing of the album. ![]() The instruments are pretty weak imoġ2)Barnett France:Not a big fan for "Barnett" and "MPO" pressings.ġ3)Warner/Universal 45 rpm of 08:Better than the casual 33 rpm version but should be avoidedġ4)Warner/Universal 33 rpm retty bad versionġ5)Vertigo South Korea of 90?: Distortions and surface noise all over the place. But the sound it's pretty decent for 15 dollars vinylġ1)Nexus International Japan:Not the best version of the album. But it lags from bass and massġ0)Blackened 16 remastered:Another very bright version. Same sound but lower surface noiseĩ)MFN 1st Press:The most bright and explosive version i have listen. Remains fine vinylĨ)MFN 86 reissue:Repress from the 1st press "MFN" pressing. It sound little compressed and noisy to me. Not the best from the "Vertigo 01" series but still great soundħ)Rhino 04:Very loud and punchy version. ![]() It sound little brighter than the Vertigo "DMM"Ħ)Vertigo EU 01 reissue:Great all around version. Contains the best masteringĥ)Elektra 0f 88 reissue "DMM": Great version than the above. Contains also the best masteringĢ)RoadRunner 1st pressing without "MFN" logo:The most raw version of the album.ģ)Megaforce 83-84 Reissue (Tom Coyne cut):Much better version than the very first pressing of "Megaforce"Ĥ)Vertigo EU 89 reissue "DMM": Great version to listen the album. Just consider me as an extra guyġ)Columbia House (Club Edition): The best version of the album. I also want do not spend money for what I believe. Feel free to ask me something or to say your thoughts. I will make a thread for "my" favorite vinyl from my favorite band and I will put an order to them.
